Writer's note: For my first post after the blog's update, I'm writing a Raeger X Minori fanfiction since I'm recently back playing the game (Story of Seasons). The story will include other characters as well, but it will mainly revolve around Raeger and Minori. Some of the conversations are actually from the game, and they have been wonderfully compiled here by 'Ariarisu'. I have really enjoyed her story and so I'm inspired to write my own now! I'm not sure how long this is going to be, but I'm just hoping to have fun writing my imagination down :)
This will be my first fanfiction, but I hope you'll like it!

Flambéed Love
{PROLOGUE}
As the horse carriage approaches the town, Minori could see the change in the surrounding right before her eyes. She arrived in spring, just in time to see the flowers blooming and the animals rising from their slumber. Her view towards the horizon was unobstructed, and the air she breathed in feels fresh. Everything is so different from what she normally had in the city. Minori gleamed with excitement as she wonders how her new life will turn out.

Minori stepped into the town's guild and saw a stern yet somewhat graceful lady approaching her, who later introduced herself as Veronica, the Guild Master. She explained the current situation and has in fact made some special arrangement for Minori so that she can enjoy her farm life to the fullest. Minori beamed in excitement, wondering what's in store for her.
Veronica brought Minori around town and later led her towards the farm area, where she introduced her to Madam Eda - who would be her mentor to become a good farmer. Everyone has been so nice to Minori and she feels really grateful for this opportunity, and for everyone's welcoming warmth.
Things are looking really well for Minori. She was initially afraid whether she would fit in here, but now..her concerns are washed away. 'I'm glad I took a risk and signed up for this position..' Minori smiled to herself and started her training diligently. Her new farm life has just begun.

A few days after her arrival, Minori has finished learning some of the farming basics and has hence decided to explore the town further - this time on her own. Madam Eda..no, she wanted Minori to call her Eda; Eda was kind enough to give Minori some allowance, for her to have some fun with. Minori was practically broke as she has just arrived in town recently; so she was very thankful towards Eda. With that, she made her way down from her farm towards the town's central.
'Hhhmm..let's see.. so this is the general store, the inn....ah I remember the guild!' Minori continued her way around town looking at the different facilities until something finally caught her eye.
'Oh wow! Is that a restaurant? Perfect timing 'cause I'm so hungry right now! Farm life is really fun but it can be pretty exhausting sometimes.. I wonder what kind of delicious food is waiting for me inside..hehehe' Minori's playful thought has left her drooling and and thus she sped up her pace towards the restaurant.
As she opened the entrance towards the targeted facility, she was greeted by a charming young man right behind the counter. Some girls were flocking by the bar trying to get his attention, but it seemed really clear that this man take his work very seriously - he's not fooling around in his own kitchen.
"Hey there, welcome to my restaurant.. Oh! You're the new farmer in town, Minori, right? I'm Raeger. I'm the owner and head chef here. Well..the ONLY owner, actually. It's good to meet you." the young man chuckled.
'Oh so his name is Raeger..he seems nice, friendly..and he's rather cute..' Minori thought to herself and blushed a little bit before introducing herself.
Minori started with a genuine smile, "Hi Raeger, nice to meet you! Yes, I'm Minori the new farmer here. I guess you must have heard about me from other people huh?"
"Haha yes, actually Veronica informed everyone here that we will have a new farmer in town, and you fit my friend's description of you. He's also a farmer in this town."
"By chance..could it be that you're talking about Fritz? We met awhile ago.."
"Yeah, so I guess you two have met! Do forgive him if he gives you any trouble because he can be really clumsy at times..but he never means it! Anyway..would you like something to eat? I might be biased, but I can totally vouch for the quality of the food. Nothing re-energizes a tired body like my meals." Raeger smiled and handed Minori the menu.
"Haha yes, actually Veronica informed everyone here that we will have a new farmer in town, and you fit my friend's description of you. He's also a farmer in this town."
"By chance..could it be that you're talking about Fritz? We met awhile ago.."
"Yeah, so I guess you two have met! Do forgive him if he gives you any trouble because he can be really clumsy at times..but he never means it! Anyway..would you like something to eat? I might be biased, but I can totally vouch for the quality of the food. Nothing re-energizes a tired body like my meals." Raeger smiled and handed Minori the menu.
"Haha I kinda noticed that about Fritz from the start," Minori chuckled, "but don't worry I don't think he's troublesome at all. Aand YES, I've been so hungry! Can I get a Potato Pancake Combo please?" Minori's eyes grew wide and she began to be a little jumpy from the excitement.
Raeger laughed at her response... she looks so adorable. She's not like most girls at his restaurant - always trying to look 'elegant' to impress him; they came for Raeger - not for his food. Because of that, Raeger really appreciates Minori's candidness for a change. For a moment he was worried when he heard that the new farmer is going to be a young woman - he has a certain stereotype towards them due to his past experiences. But now that he's seeing Minori in person, he felt guilty for judging her before they even met. At the same time, he felt happy that someone could finally prove him wrong.
"Alright, one Potato Pancake Combo coming right up! Take a seat anywhere you want, Minori." Raeger smiled widely as he proceeds towards the kitchen to prepare Minori's order.
...
"WOW!! This is really delicious, Raeger! How did you make this?!" Minori exclaimed the moment she tasted her first bite, "I could come here everyday!" and she quickly took the next bite as the two of them continued their conversation.
"Thank you, I'm flattered. I take really special care in picking my ingredients and I like to improvise over time. Although I feel like something is still missing from this Potato Pancake.."
"Hhhmm..it's already really delicious as it is but I think it will be even better if you add some lemon zest to add a tinge of freshness."
"THAT'S IT! LEMON! Why didn't I think of that? Thanks Minori, you're a GENIUS!" Raeger was thrilled and quickly jotted it down on his small memo pad.
"Eheheh well..if you say so.." Minori beamed from ear to ear before finally gulping down her last piece of pancake. "Aaah, that was a good meal! Thanks Raeger!"
"It's my pleasure. I'm glad you enjoy it!" Raeger was genuinely happy with her comment. Could someone finally sees him for his talent instead?
"Well..I have to go back to the farm work soon or else Eda will be worried..I've been out for awhile.."
"Alright then. Have fun at the farm and don't hesitate to let me know if you need any help, Minori! Once again thank you for your suggestion and it's nice meeting you. See you around town!"
"Thanks Raeger! I'll remember that. No worries, it's my pleasure and I'll look forward to your new recipes soon. See ya!" Minori grinned before rushing out of the restaurant to go back to her work.
Raeger smiled and waved Minori good bye. Thinking back, it was strange how he could so easily open up to Minori, considering they have just met. He felt comfortable around her - he could talk freely and be himself.
'This town is going to get even more interesting starting today..' Raeger grinned as he took care of the dishes.
As Minori headed back towards her farm, Minori had the same thought as Raeger. Back in the city, a lot of men who approached Minori actually have a different intention when they said they wanted to befriend her - Minori never realized it herself, but she was prettier than the average girl. However, seeing how Raeger has treated her with utmost kindness and sincerity, Minori was delighted.
And so, this spring, a new friendship has bloomed.
